A few plain commitments about how this almanac is written.
Written by a person
Articles are written and edited by Ivan Braley. I may use tools to research or tidy drafts, but the testing, opinions, and judgment are human, and accountable to a real name.
Tested one variable at a time
I introduce a single oil, extract, or routine, use it consistently for a few weeks, and observe before I recommend anything. When I name a plant or a concentration, I try to keep it honest and specific rather than vague, and I mention where a claim rests on tradition rather than strong evidence.
Not medical advice
I write about everyday natural beauty, not treatment. Nothing here is medical advice or a diagnosis, and some botanicals (certain essential oils especially) carry real risks like irritation or phototoxicity. If something matters for your skin or health, see a board-certified dermatologist.
Honest by default
I don’t do fake enthusiasm, and natural gets no free pass. If a plant, oil, or product is overhyped, thin on evidence, or overpriced, I’ll say so. I’d rather lose a click than mislead you.
